OUR MISSION
The Museum of Adriatic Zoology at the University of Padua was established to promote knowledge of marine biodiversity by preserving a unique heritage gathered over 250 years of international scientific activity in the Upper Adriatic region.
Today, the museum is home to animals that are symbolic of the local area and its traditions. Looking to the future, it is hoped that the Giuseppe Olivi Museum will increase everyone’s respect for and sense of responsibility toward the sea, a resource that needs to be managed sustainably now more than ever.
