How and what do marine organisms eat? What food relationships are formed among different animals and plants? What is a trophic network?
Understanding how nourishment and energy pass from one organism to another is a key piece to understanding at least some of the complexity of the marine ecosystem. In this room, you learn about the basic elements of food webs, and you can move from theory to practice in an easy way thanks to interactive stations on the teeth of marine animals and unusual and curious ways of feeding. A panel with special tiles is then available for those who want to try their hand at building an entire trophic net with their own hands. Direct experimentation helps to become aware of the extreme plasticity of prey/predator relationships, the indispensable contribution of each element to the functionality of the trophic network, and the delicacy of the balances that regulate it.
