The Fisheries Database of Chioggia

The Chioggia Fisheries Database is the result of decades of collaboration between marine biologists, local authorities and the Fish Market. Thanks to the work of researchers, this database, which is constantly being updated, gives access to historical information on seafood products of the Northern Adriatic and data on the Clodians’ fishing fleet, effectively constituting a valuable tool that can be used by different types of users: fisheries biologists, fishery operators, administrators involved in resource management, students of different grades and interested citizens.

You can search for each species by specifying the common name (e.g., dairy), or the scientific name (e.g., Atherina boyeri), or even the dialectal name (e.g., eel). The database also collects reports of rare, occasional, new, or unknown species, sightings or catches that are unusual in abundance or size, and exceptional mortality events, thanks to the contributions of those who work directly at sea: professional fishermen, sportsmen, divers, and boaters.

Here is the official website of the database with all the detailed information.
